Electrosonic was contracted to supply and install the audio-visual hardware for the world’s first “Submarium”. The exhibits make extensive use of plasma display panels, with audio playback heard through SoundTube FocusPoint™ dome speakers. The ease of installing the dome speakers and their audio quality were paramount in this exciting new exhibition.

GENOCIDE EXHIBITION, RWANDA
In conjunction with Rwandan survivors and the authorities, the Aegis Trust is working to establish seven genocide memorial and education centres at key sites across Rwanda. The first – in Kigali, has been kitted with thirteen 18” TFT LCD screens with a touch interface to trigger films delivered by the Video Chameleon with audio heard through dome speakers. Sound Directions also designed and manufactured ‘push button language selection’ interfaces that are to be triggered by the SoundClip digital audio player.
All the equipment has to survive heavy usage, frequent power cuts and little technical supervision. The ability of Sound Directions’ solid-state equipment to re-boot itself upon the resumption of power - together with the durability of a ‘no-moving parts’ mechanism, was a key factor for the Trust.
PARC ASTERIX, FRANCE
Parc Asterix, to the north of Paris, packs in millions of visitors a year with its mixture of white-knuckle rides and variety shows. The theme park was looking to upgrade its outdoor music/paging speakers and decided to trial SoundTube’s XT and RS55 outdoor speakers. After a successful trial, Parc Asterix installed 160 speakers throughout the park having been convinced about the reliability and voice clarity of SoundTube’s speakers. Intelligibility was deemed particularly important in reuniting parents with lost children!
